About

I spent my entire life up to college in Catholic school. I graduated from high school on May 30, 2007 & am a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg majoring in English Writing, focus on journalism. I'm shy & very quiet around people I don't know, but when with friends I'm very talkative & outgoing. My closest friends & I tend to operate in a single group we call "The Craigs". The only sport to date I've been able to watch on TV & love is hockey, but I love theater, reading, movies, & music. I live to act & sing & I was in the school musical my last two years of high school & loved every minute of it. I like to debate politics & such with people. I laugh a lot, & usually love life. Politically, I'm registered as Independent as I don't pt all my beliefs behind one party, but I tend to favor the more liberal side of things. I voted for Obama in the 2008 election, the first one in which I was old enough to vote. I consider myself a religious person but put not stock in organized religion despite being raised Catholic. I believe storngly in God & Jesus, I pray, & I thank God for everything I have. I love discussing religion thoughtfully.

Random facts

1. I've studied the French, German, Latin, Italian, & Spanish languages. Aside from English, I'm most fluent in French, despite taking Spanish much longer.
2. Both my ear lobes are pierced, plus the cartilage in my right ear. I'd like to pierce either my nose or left tragus, maybe eventually both.
3. I'm right handed.
4. I often receive make-up for Christmas & my birthday as gifts. As a result, I have so much that I have nearly every color imaginable & can do my make-up to match my clothes if I want.
5. I only wear silver jewelry, & I love rings especially.
6. I have a tattoo of a heart on the inside of my left wrist. I got it with two of the other six Craigs.
7. I have Converse sneakers in enough colors to match almost all of my clothes.
8. I love the beach, but the creatures in the ocean scare me.
9. Despite having many friends I often feel very isolated.
10. I love frapuccinos, chai tea, & Arizona green tea. That is the only brand of green tea I'll drink. I love Starbucks but hate their chai.
11. My favorite channel on digital cable is VH1 Classic, followed by BBC America. I love watching Graham Norton & Top Gear.
12. I can sleep through just about anything.
13. I sing nearly constantly, except in my dorm.
14. I'm attracted to men of all kinds. My most recent crush is Mark Hamill. The one my brother hates most is Christopher Plummer.
15. English has always been my best subject in school. I've been told from the time I was in elementary school that I should be a writer, & I'm only just now listening.
16. I was raised Catholic but disagree with most of what the church says, & rarely pay attention at mass despite going every Sunday. I was also an altar server until I graduated high school. I don't see myself being a practicing Catholic far into the future.
17. I love horror movies & am always looking for a good, scary movie. It takes a lot to scare me, & I laughed when I watched The Excorcist.
18. I'm a vegetarian & have been since February 2004, when I was a freshman in high school. I used to be straight edge but dropped it when I wanted to experience things for myself & discovered that I like drinking & such, & do it in a manner that does not hurt me or anyone else.
19. I has a dog named Mandy that had to be put to sleep on October 13, 2007, after being diagnosed with intestinal cancer only the day before. That's how fast & aggressive the cancer took over. On May 2, 2008, we adopted two dogs from a local shelter, Duke & Dandy. They went in together & are best friends.
20. I usually avoid expressing anger I feel when friends say or do something I don't like, because I don't want to upset anyone. This has really fucked me up, I think, & I'm trying to change it & be more open.
21. I can be really loud. I can also be really quiet.
22. I'm very patient & very forgiving. Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the few Craigs with these traits.
23. I have dimples & freckle in the sun. I'm so fair skinned that if I'm spending lots of time outside, I use SPF 50 so I don't burn.
24. I think I have a great sense of humor.
25. While I care about my grades, there are more important things to me in life than school. Money, too.
